EYES ON UMICH
ARON FELTES
Aron Feltes is a police officer employed by UM Police Department. He was named Officer of the Year in 2019.
Feltes has repeatedly patrolled student marches, where he has instigated violence and assaulted student protestors.
In this video, Feltes violently shoves out students demonstrating for a free Palestine from a public University building.
Feltes is also seen elbowing a student in the face and using the full force of his body weight to batter the student to the ground.
The University of Michigan is paying unrestrained police officers like Feltes, strapped with guns, to threaten and brutalize its own students. Why do we pay tuition to have our loved ones dehumanized?
WHEN ASKED TO DIVEST, UMICH ARRESTS.
We are disturbed by the increased militarized police presence on campus that has resulted in students being detained, arrested, traumatized, and assaulted.
"The University of Michigan Police Department Oversight Committee is an oversight committee for the University of Michigan Police Department created under the authority of Act 120 of the Public Acts of 1990 of the State of Michigan.
The function of the Committee is to comply with Act 120 and consider grievances by persons against police officers or the Police Department."
